1- Why did you choose to start this business?
I chose to start selling clothes because of endless compliments I got from people whenever I was putting in clothes, they would aks me where I bought a certain outfit, with that I decided since I always get enquiries about clothes am wearing I should start selling clothes myself.
2- What was the most difficult thing you had to do while starting up your business?
The most difficult thing I did when I started up was having to buy scarfs locally and sold them at a higher price. I wanted to sell something unique yet I had less funds. But because I had to, I did. And, they were bought.
3- What is the most rewarding part of owning/managing this business?
The most rewarding part about being an owner is the fact that I am my own boss, I create work for my self, I don’t get to be fired, I wake up employed everyday and it gives me hope and courage to work hard everyday.
4- If you were to start over, what would you change?
If I were to start over? Honestly I wouldn’t change a thing, I started small and am growing into something impressive. I took the right paths to growth and so far so good.
5- What inspires you to keep moving?
My love for fashion, my love for being unique, the fact that I started something and it gave results pushes me to keep on moving. It’s the hunger to see what a I am capable of.
6- How do you manage between your business and personal life?
When you enjoy what you do, you take your personal life and business life and make it one thing, I hardly realise the difference because I enjoy every bit of reselling clothes and now designing my own clothing line, it gets interesting each day, and since I am an online store, it doesn’t get very hard.
7- How do you deal with competition in your business?
With the market being saturated in the reselling of clothes, I’ve dealt with competition by deciding to create my own clothing line, before I had this idea I just decided to be unique and treated my customers with the most respect and patience. I had better deals of payment options and complimentary gifts once in a while.
8- What is your advice for someone who is just starting or thinking of starting a new small business?
Patience, determination, creativity, believe in what you are selling to the people, trust it, enjoy it and make it professional. Results take time but your investments will show in the future.
